The Esk Valley Community Energy Group has been working since 2006 to reduce the community’s contribution to climate change by promoting energy conservation, energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
The group held regular public meetings to give updates on current projects and to help people find out about new technologies. It also maintained a website offering a wealth of up to date advice and useful links.
After nearly nine years of activity, the group is now ceasing to operate but, due to strong links and overlapping aims, has decided that its assets should be transferred to Moor Sustainable CIC.
This means that the work of the EVCEG will now be continued over the wider area of north east Yorkshire, covered by Moor Sustainable. We will also continue to update the EVCEG website and link to it through this site.
The following notice was given to all EVCEG members & supporters:
“At the Extraordinary General Meeting of Esk Valley Community Energy Group at 8pm on 11th February 2014 the following resolution was passed:
This meeting resolves that the Esk Valley Community Energy Group should cease to operate and the assets be transferred to Moors Sustainable CIC before the 28th February 2014. The assets include: the website, the mailing list and funds amounting to £158.93.
The work of the Esk Valley Community Energy Group will now be continued but over the wider area of north east Yorkshire (the old historic Cleveland) by Moor Sustainable CIC.”
