Green Open Homes 2015: May 16th

Could you be a Green Open Home?

Have you installed renewable energy technologies or other energy-saving measures?

Would you be willing to show other people what you have done and talk about your experiences?

Moor Sustainable has once again secured funding from the Green Open Homes Network to showcase renewable and energy-saving technologies installed in ordinary homes. Talking to someone who has been through the installation process can really help to give people the motivation they need to make changes in their own homes.

This year, we plan to have 10 Open Homes in an area covering Saltburn, Redcar, Guisborough, Great Ayton and Stokesley. The event will run from 11am – 4pm.

We plan to showcase the following technologies and energy-saving measures:

External wall insulation Internal wall insulation
Ground source heat pump Air source heat pump
Solar photovoltaic system Solar thermal system
Wood pellet boiler Wood pellet stove
Log burning boiler Log burning stove
Micro CHP Thermal heat store
Wind turbine LED lighting
High performance glazing Efficient electrical appliances
Low cost improvements Water management

Information about each home will be displayed on the Green Open Homes website here.

If you could be willing to open your home as part of this event, complete this form and send it to: We’ll be in touch to discuss what’s involved, in more detail.

We are part of the national Green Open Homes Network, which supports events to demonstrate low carbon improvements in ordinary homes. The Network is funded by the Department of Energy and Climate Change and delivered by the Centre for Sustainable Energy.
