Friday 10th June 7.30 pm
Danby Village Hall, Dale End, Danby, Whitby, YO21 2LZ
On Thursday 23rd June voters in the UK will be asked
“Should the United Kingdom remain a member or leave the European Union”.
How will the decision affect the future for the
Esk Valley Community?
Hear the facts and put your questions to:-
- David Malone – film maker, author and former Scarborough and Whitby constituency candidate for the Green Party
- Tony Homewood – employed as a consultant to the Leave.EU campaign and a long time member of the Conservative party (change as Sam Cross not able to attend)
- Andy Welford – local dairy farmer and “Remain” supporter
- Wayne Davies – Redcar & Cleveland Independent Borough Councillor for Loftus Ward and “Vote Leave” supporter
The Question Time will be chaired by a local resident, Catherine Hatch, who recently retired as Director of Children’s Services for Newcastle City Council. Catherine is very supportive of a thorough debate of the important issue of the EU referendum.
Whatever the decision it will have significant effects on our lives, our community and our environment. From media reports so far in the campaign people want more facts but they are not necessarily hearing what they want to know. Moor Sustainable has therefore decided to help our community to become better informed by giving you the opportunity to put questions to our panel at Danby Village Hall on Friday 10th June.
We would like to have questions in advance so that we can choose a representative selection. Questions will be especially welcome on how the decision will directly affect us all in this area but it is up to you to decide what you would like to ask. We will try to let you know before the meeting (or if not at the door) if your question has been chosen.
Please send your question with your name to us via firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday 8th June.
Please pass on information about the meeting to your friends and neighbours.
